The Pohang Steelers, A Professional Soccer Team

The Pohang Steelers, a professional soccer team, have recruited a new head coach. Pohang announced on Monday that it has appointed Park Tae-ha as its new coach.

He has two years of contract. Park has taken the helm of his old team, where he spent his professional career.

He debuted in the K-League in 1991 as a Pohang University player, and is a "one-club man" who played in Pohang without a transfer until his retirement in 2001. He appeared in 261 games and scored 46 goals and 37 assists, and also served as the team captain from 1998 to 2000.

Pohang Steelers appointed new coach Park Tae-ha, a Pohang "one club man" and former coach of Pohang, FC Seoul and the national soccer team, as the 13th head coach.

When new coach Park played as a player, Pohang won the K League and the Korea Football Association (FA) Cup once each, and won the Champions League hosted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) twice.

He started his career as a coach in Pohang. He became a coach in 2005 and in 2007, he assisted then-Brazilian coach Sergio Paris, and gained joy of winning the title. In 2012, he also led the team to the championship as the head coach of FC Seoul.

He also served as a coach for the Korean national team from 2008 to 2011. He also advanced to the round of 16 teams for the first time in an away match with coach Huh Jung-moo at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Pohang Steelers appointed former coach Park Tae-ha as their new coach on the 15th. New coach Park poses with his Pohang uniform as a player.

After moving to the Chinese league, he took charge of Yanbian in 2015 and promoted the team to the top division. He then headed the technical committee of the Korea Professional Football Federation in 2020. 토토사이트

Pohang ranked second in the K-League 1 and won the FA Cup this season. However, former coach Kim Ki-dong took the helm of FC Seoul and filled the post with new coach Park.

"It's such a meaningful place for me that I've never forgotten about Pohang since I first joined the club," new coach Park said through the club. "It's an honor and nice to be here as a coach." He added, "I'll do my best to prepare well to show you Pohang football."
